As Jeremy D. on Yelp says: “It's a little kids REI! There's so much hands on stuff for them that time slips by quickly while there. We we here this morning while on a field trip with a bunch of kids. There's so many stations with so much going on at each station that hearing, "he's not sharing" never happened in two hours. Then.. there's a second floor! We almost missed it because there was too much fun being had on the first floor . . . If you're in the area and have kids, this is a must visit place.”

Construction of the old Capitol building was completed in 1892. It first served Thurston County as it’s Courthouse. In the early nineteen-hundreds it was purchased for use as the State Capitol Building. Olympia was centrally located for landholders to be able to visit the government as needed.
